IRS Requires all Plan documents and amendments to be signed and dated
Recent IRS audits have resulted in penalties for plan sponsors that do not have all Plan Documents with adequate signatures and dates.
Please check your files to make sure that all of your documents (Retirement Plan, Flex Benefits Plan, Health Reimbursement Arrangement) have the appropriate signature and date where necessary. The signed documents will keep your benefit plan in compliance with IRS Regulations and help to avoid penalties in case of an audit.
Your employee benefits administrator would also like to keep a signed and dated copy on file as a backup.
